Two charter schools failed to open

Two charter schools failed to open on schedule Monday and have told Palm Beach County School District officials they will never open because they weren’t able to enroll enough students.

Champs in Delray Beach and Riviera Beach had enrolled only two or three students and needed 112 at each site to meet their charter requirements,

Said Jim Pegg, director of the district’s charter school office.

The schools were slated to operate out of the Boys and Girls Club facilities in those cities.
